VOLUNTEER WORK
Helping others brings purpose to life.
My hope is to use my education and experience to improve the lives of those in my community.

ESPERANZA HOUSE
The mission of Esperanza House is to improve the lives of local Hispanic families who are in need of critical services. My experience as a tutor and mentor for junior high and high school students provided the inspiration to return to graduate school and seek a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language.
INTERNSHIPS
Through two Auburn-sponsored internships, I received hands-on, classroom experience with the pleasure of supporting and interacting with English language learners in my community.

AUBURN GLOBAL
Auburn Global provides language and transitional support to international students who are bridging to the university. In the spring of 2021, I had a wonderful opportunity to serve as an assistant English instructor in an intermediate English class. The experience provided invaluable insight into the academic language classroom for adult learners. The purpose of instruction was to help students develop the essential language and process skills necessary to navigate the university system.

AUBURN UNIVERSITY OUTREACH
Through the Auburn Youth Program and the Office of Professional and Continuing Education, I participated in an intensive English summer program. During this time, I assisted with the instruction of adult learners and independently conducted class for high school English language learners. Instruction was tailored to the practical needs of the students through thematic materials and mini-grammar lessons.
